Questions and AnswersCategory: Moitessier HATRF front end protection
Kai asked 5 years ago

Another question…  looking to install additional protection between antenna and the hat, to protect from antenna static buildup/ induced currents / other transmitters.
What is the maximum continuous / transient input power that can be tolerated at the RF frontend before physical degradation?  Frontend can be saturated and non-operational at this point, just don’t want to (slowly) blow it up.
For reference, looking at units like the following
https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/dxe-rg-5000
maybe the HD version depending on what the damage threshold is
https://www.arraysolutions.com/as-rxfep

Thanks again
Kai

Hello Kai,
the input power at the antenna connector should not exceed 0dBm in continous mode.
Regards,
Thomas
